A SABER & SASO Guide to Importing Building Materials into Saudi Arabia

EIRADAH International Team · February 24, 2026

One of the most common reasons building-material and fit-out shipments get delayed at Saudi ports is failing to meet SABER or SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization) conformity requirements before shipping — not after.

What is the SABER platform?

SABER is Saudi Arabia's electronic platform for issuing conformity certificates for imported products. Any product covered by a Saudi technical regulation needs a conformity certificate through this platform before it can enter the Kingdom.

Why does this matter for your project?

Some fit-out and building-material items (such as electrical fittings and certain safety materials) fall under mandatory technical regulations. If certification requirements aren't met before shipping, the usual result is the shipment being held at customs — stalling your entire project schedule.

The practical steps we follow

  • Identify which project items fall under mandatory Saudi technical regulations
  • Confirm the factory can meet certification requirements before production starts
  • Obtain SABER conformity certificates before shipping, not after
  • Keep copies of every certificate in the project file

[PLACEHOLDER: add details specific to your actual certifications and customs-clearance partners, if any].

At EIRADAH International, we manage this as part of our scope of work, so customs surprises never derail your project timeline.
